The 5 Essentials You Need in Your Bag Every Day
RAYYAN, BEAUTY EDITOR | NOVEMBER 4, 2020
At the start of the year, my essentials when leaving the house were always the basics: phone, cards, keys, gloss, and sunnies. It was crucial to be able to fit everything in one hand, my back pocket, or throw them in the passenger seat. I liked to tell myself that my accessories had to be functional. Now, as we near the end of the year, that entire philosophy has been replaced by a bottomless pit of a bag, filled with extra surgical masks, hand sanitizer, lotion, and skincare essentials.
Whether it’s combating the fatigue from the day, staying sanitized, or needed a quick skin fix, here are the constants you need in your bag every day:
You can say I have a pair of sunnies for every mood – and I have a lot of moods. In my everyday bag, you’ll find the perfect pair of everyday sunnies from my favorite brand, QUAY AUSTRALIA, that can go with every look, outfit, and mood. Big enough to disguise the fact that I just ran out of the house, but a statement in themselves to dress up any look.
2. Hand Sanitizer
It’s so important to have extra hand sanitizer always on you (I keep a travel size in every bag I own!), especially if you know you’ll be running errands, meeting people, or stopping for lunch. My favorite is the SKINN Non-Negotiables® Fast-Acting Sanitizing Treatment. It’s formulated with Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin B5 so not only is it disinfecting, but it’s also hydrating and nourishes my hands. It also smells incredible!
3. Extra Masks
I buy my surgical masks in bulk so I always have individually wrapped extras that I can put everywhere. No really, EVERYWHERE. I have them in every bag, on my vanity, in my coat closet, at my work desk; you just never know if and when you’ll need to replace your mask. Stay safe!
4. Eye Depuffing Balm
Life in the new normal means a lot of quick fixes and celebrating fresh skin. No makeup days are my favorite and when I need an instant pick me up or refresher, the Hydro-Vital™ Ice Depuffing Eye Moisture Balm is my go-to! One glide on the orbital bone under my eye is all I need to bring my eyes back to life. And not to mention the cooling sensation in the balm that gives me a quick, energized boost!
5. Lip Oil
I’ve switched up from my go-to matte lip look to a more hydrating, mask-friendly option and the Divine Elixir Luminous Skin Lip Oil has become essential in my bag. With the change of weather, it’s super crucial to maintain your skin’s hydration and your lips need some love too! Loaded with Manuka Honey and Vitamin C, this lip oil is the perfect gloss and treatment in one.
