No-Shave November? Movember? No Problem!
Learn what products the men on our team love!
RAYYAN, BEAUTY EDITOR | NOVEMBER 3, 2021
There are many reasons why November is an exciting time of the year. As we gear up for the holidays and colder weather, this month is riddled with hallmark events like Thanksgiving, the insane deals of Black Friday, and recently the theme of Movember and No-Shave November.
If you’re like me, you think the last two are the same. I’m here to tell you they are very different! Movember, the combination of the word “mustache” and “November,” is a fun experiment turned movement that requires men to shave their entire face, excluding their mustache, which they need to groom and maintain. The concept is meant to raise awareness about various men’s health initiatives. The mustache enables the start of this very important conversation.
No-Shave November is a newer idea that focuses solely on cancer awareness and prevention. The idea is to grow out your facial hair in an attempt to raise awareness and solidarity for those living with or battled cancer.
In both scenarios, you are dealing with facial hair and all the grooming, or lack thereof, needs skincare maintenance too. To prepare your skin for any level of grooming this month and long-term, discover a few of the men behind SKINN sharing their favorite products.
Drew, Director of Digital
Favorite product: Divine Elixir Luminous Facial Oil
“After shaving, instead of post-shave or after-shave, I’ve been applying several drops of the Luminous Facial Oil to my cheeks, chin and neck. The treatment is soothing and the antibacterial qualities of Manuka Honey help aid with any cuts and/or burns. The Oil also helps keep a clean-shaven face smooth and hydrated throughout the day,” said Drew.
IRV, Director of Regulatory + Compliance
Favorite product: Non-Negotiables® DermAppeal® Microdermabrasion Treatment
IRV explained, “I use this maybe three to four times per week in the shower. Afterward, I always feel like I have a fresh layer of skin on my face. I make a point of using it after wearing sunscreen to try to remove the residue and blocked pores.”
