How to Achieve Your Power Perfect Coverage

Our highly anticipated, now best-selling, beauty product of 2021 is both equal parts makeup and equal parts skincare. The Scientific Color™ Power Perfect Foundation + Concealer is meant to provide you with customizable coverage as well as long-term skincare benefits such as firming and improved skin elasticity.
Due to the self-leveling micro-pigments in this foundation + concealer, you can build the coverage to your liking based on your unique and daily needs. Before we get into how to build your perfect coverage, a lot of you have reached out asking how to obtain the ideal feel with your Power Perfect Foundation + Concealer. Based on your unique skin concerns and needs, here are some tips on how to achieve the right feel and finish:
- Natural Finish: Prep skin with your everyday skincare routine. After you’ve adequately moisturized and protected your skin, you can begin the application.
- Added Radiance + Glow: Prep skin with Divine Elixir Luminous Skin Facial Oil. If your T-Zone tends to be a little bit more on the oily side or drier side, apply the Deep Wrinkle Protocol Illuminating Primer along the center of your face for longer wear.
- Matte Finish: After applying the foundation, lightly buff the Deep Wrinkle Protocol Finishing Powder across the face, focusing on areas that you want a more airbrushed finish.
Now that you are prepped and ready, I’m going to show you how to get the best coverage out of your Power Perfect shade match with this easy step-by-step guide to achieving each level of coverage.
Light Coverage
To achieve a natural, light finish use the Power Perfect Foundation + Concealer angled applicator tip directly onto prepped skin. The precision of this applicator allows for you to have just the right amount of product each time so that you can evenly and accurately get the coverage you want.
Tap a small amount of foundation onto the forehead, cheeks and chin. Starting at the center of the face, gently blend outward using your fingertips, lightly gliding the product across your skin. Evenly blend to your liking making sure to cover or correct any specific areas to help you achieve your flawless look.
Medium Coverage
The technology behind this foundation + concealer allows for a buildable application to truly cater to your coverage needs. For medium coverage, this is where you can utilize your wet beauty sponge. Tap an additional small amount of foundation where ever you want more coverage. Begin blending into the skin for a seamless finish.
Full Coverage
For fuller coverage, this is where you’re going to want to have the right beauty tools to ensure your flawless look. Using the Scientific Color™ Foundation Brush, tap an additional small amount of foundation onto the forehead, cheeks and chin. Starting at the center of the face, blend out your shade match all over making sure to glide the brush across the contours of your face to ensure even coverage throughout. Continue to blend and build as desired.
Beauty Editor Hack: For the days I want a more airbrushed, perfected finish, I’ll utilize a shade lighter to conceal, and a shade darker to contour. For me, that looks like:
- Shade Match: Medium
- Highlight: Neutral
- Contour: Tan
To conceal, use the angled applicator tip to tap a small amount underneath the eye. Blend with your fingertips or wet beauty sponge. To elevate your look, contour use the angled applicator tip by dotting a small amount of foundation on the forehead, cheek contours and jawline. For the best results, blend with your Scientific Color™ Foundation Brush. Although not necessary, a primer can be used beforehand.
