October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time when communities worldwide unite in support, advocacy, and the shared hope of a world without breast cancer. This month, we at SKINN are proud to take a proactive step forward by partnering with Mission Plasticos in a heartfelt endeavor.
The Reality Many Face
Breast cancer, one of the most diagnosed cancers among women, poses not just a physical challenge but also an emotional and psychological ordeal. It becomes even more disheartening when we discover that a significant number of these brave fighters – around 60% of U.S. women with breast cancer living below the poverty line – are inadequately insured.This stark statistic means that many of these women may not have access to essential breast reconstructive surgery post-mastectomy. A reconstruction procedure, beyond its medical benefits, is symbolic. It stands for hope, healing, and the chance for survivors to feel whole again.
Our Pledge: A Full Journey of Care for Every Woman
Recognizing the pressing need, SKINN®, in partnership with Mission Plasticos, has taken a step forward. Mission Plasticos is committed to reshaping lives by providing essential surgical care to those in need. A percentage of our sales proceeds throughout this month will be dedicated to supporting their invaluable mission of offering no-cost breast reconstruction surgery for post-mastectomy women who lack adequate insurance coverage.
We firmly believe that every woman, irrespective of her economic situation, deserves a comprehensive journey of care.
