What is Physical Exfoliation?
RAYYAN, BEAUTY EDITOR | APRIL 6, 2022
There is a multitude of products, procedures, and treatments that promise soft, poreless, and youthful looking skin. Oftentimes, these products are, in one way or another, utilizing the concept of removing dead skin cells from the top layer of skin. However, many of these treatments are either pricey or require an expensive office visit. This is why we formulated our DermAppeal® collection — a lineup of affordable physical exfoliation products that you can implement in your routine from the comfort of your home.
The DermAppeal® Collection
DermAppeal® Microdermabrasion Treatment: Utilizing a naturally occurring mineral from the Dead Sea, Kakadu Plum Extract (one of the world's highest natural sources of Vitamin C), and five stabilized forms of antioxidant Vitamin C Crystals, this physical exfoliant gives you all the benefits of a professional microdermabrasion treatment at home.
DermAppeal® Body: This highly active resurfacing body wash delivers the perfect balance of exfoliating crystals and moisturizing ingredients required for a high-performance skin-renewing treatment.
DermAppeal® Lip Scrub: This lip treatment helps brighten dull lips by using finely ground dried Lychee Seeds to buff away dead skin cells. It also smooths uneven texture to reveal the perfect pout.
DermAppeal® Foot Scrub: Formulated with a powerful combination of European Sea Salts and botanical extracts that are rich in minerals and micronutrients, this intense exfoliator effectively improves the appearance of dull, dry skin.
Physical vs. Chemical Exfoliation
One of the biggest skincare queries we receive is understanding the difference between physical and chemical exfoliation. To break it down easily, the difference is in the formula. One uses physical, granule ingredients to slough off dead skin cells, while chemical exfoliants utilize a combination of AHA and BHAs.
